Rhythmic Gymnastics is a beautiful sport that combines gymnastics elements and dance with hand-held apparatus such as ribbons, hoops, balls, ropes, and clubs. Your daughter will enjoy exploring her creativity while learning great body control, flexibility, increased dexterity, coordination, artistry and elegance, spatial awareness and overall confidence. Students love our Rhythmic Gymnastics program here, and we are proud to be the only gym in Houston to offer lessons in this unique sport. All levels of interest are welcome to begin Rhythmic Gymnastics in our recreational classes for ages 6-17yrs old. This will be your daughter’s favorite activity in the week!

Class Length: 60 minutes

Focus: This class is designed to introduce students to the sport of rhythmic gymnastics. Students learn basic gymnastics skills, focus on proper stretching to achieve maximum flexibility, dance elements and artistic use of hand held apparatus. Overall students are trained to improve coordination, physical strength, expression, spatial awareness and build confidence through movement.

Class Length: 60 minutes

Focus: This intermediate beginner class follows the completion of Rhythmic Level 1. Students continue to refine existing skills, and expand on their gymnastics vocabulary and artistic expression through slightly more complex routines with the apparatus. Increased conditioning exercises prepare gymnasts for an increased focus on flexibility in splits, back and shoulders.

Focus: This intermediate class follows the completion of Rhythmic Level 1 and Level 2. Students continue to improve their previously learned skills, and begin new skills on each apparatus. More intricate choreography is learned for the routines on each apparatus used. There is a focus on musicality and expression through each athlete’s routines.

Focus: This advanced invitational class meets two times a week for 90 minutes, and follows the completion of Rhythmic Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4. Students will have stronger execution of their skills and gymnastics technique. This class aims to have each gymnast perform with confidence in expression of choreography and musicality of their routines. Gymnasts enjoy more of a challenge in sequencing unique skills together in this level of the sport.

This class provides an excellent opportunity for your gymnast to spend focused time on correct stretching and body alignment to increase flexibility. There is a strong focus on proper skill technique, body positions, and drills to greatly improve jumps, leaps and turns for gymnastics. This is a great class to take in addition to a Girls Gymnastics class or Tumbling class if your gymnast needs more individualized work on flexibility, arm positions, leaps, jumps, coordination, strength and turning technique.
